The Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA) proudly assumes the role of the pre-eminent voice on Beacon Hill in support of public education, lobbying for continued funding of education reform efforts, annual increases in public higher education budgets, and a continuing commitment to equal educational opportunity and the future of public education. Visit the MTA's legislative action page to learn more.

The HEA frequently volunteers with the MTA's Grassroots Division to advocate for education-friendly legislative agendas. The HEA Political Education Chair and Political Action Leaders (P.A.L.s) coordinate with our MTA Senate District Coordinator to meet with our state legislators several times a year, canvass for ed-friendly candidates, and engage members in political action if they choose to do so.
